Raised in a small rural town in western Pennsylvania, Daniel was mentored proudly by his father, an avid sportsman and environmentalist, who sparked his interest in native wisdom and natural living. These simple, yet profound, lessons drawn from nature peaked Daniel’s interest in natural health. Daniel attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in psychology and biology. His studies focused on health psychology and the mind-body connection. Once exposed to Asian philosophy, natural awareness, and the science of the mind, Daniel was attracted to the field of Oriental Medicine.
Daniel completed an extensive four-year program in Acupuncture, Herbology, Western Medicine, and Asian Bodywork Therapy at AOMA: Graduate School of Integrative Medicine in Austin, Texas. He has studied in China at the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In addition, Daniel has received certification and advanced training in three forms of Japanese Medicine. While studying Chinese medicine, Daniel was deeply influenced by the study of Tai Chi Chuan, internal kung fu, and Raja Yoga. These quiet systems of meditation, movement, and healing provide Daniel with a daily practice that brings strength and focus to his Acupuncture treatments. As a certified Yoga instructor, licensed herbalist and Certified Tea Master, Daniel helps his clients regain control of their health through developing balanced lifestyles grounded in healthy nutrition, daily exercise, deep breathing, and drinking many cups of tea.
