So many people of late have confided they are overwhelmed by the stimuli they encounter in their daily lives. They feel rushed, at loose ends, behind the 8-ball. They are caught up with their responsibilities to family, careers, church. They have confided they would like to learn meditation but find that difficult.
For the past 11 years, I have sat meditation with Plum Blossom. I helped to found this small community. Our group is led by Roshi Janet Abels, who with her husband Sensei Gregory Abels, leads Still Mind Zendo in New York City. We listen weekly to her CD lectures. She comes to Pittsburgh to lead weekend retreats in the spring. We also offer brunch so newcomers can meet and get to know group members.
We welcome newcomers. For those who would like to explore meditation and the Zen path, please call 412-371-9493 to schedule an orientation.
